Axl Rose recently tweeted his frustration about how despite artists’ wishes, Trump is using the venues’ performance licences as a “loophole” to use unauthorized music.
Trump has been using this song to end rallies, which really doesn’t make a lick of sense, but the Stones also can’t get what they want and get him to stop using it. Trump also used “Start Me Up” at the Republican National Convention, which also got a rebuke from the band.
Trump used the biggest track from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack at a rally after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, and Williams sent a cease-and-desist order to stop him from using it again.
Another song that probably shouldn’t be used at any political rally, but Young’s track was heard at Trump’s campaign kickoff — and, as an apparent fan of the Canadian rock legend, he reportedly respected his wishes about not using it.
