Alberta Environment says new framework will help attract investment, create jobs
Alberta Environment Minister Shannon Phillips is announcing new rules for large industrial greenhouse gas emitters in Calgary on Wednesday.
Details of the new rules come one day after a pledge by the Alberta government to invest $1.4 billion to drive innovation, boost the energy industry and diversify economy.
Part of the plan involves spending $240 million on energy-efficiency projects in large-scale industrial, agricultural and manufacturing operations.
Another $225 million will be aimed at driving innovations that reduce greenhouse gas emissions across a wider range of industries.
