The industry is now worth over $3.5 billion a year
VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Canada’s organic market has been experiencing massive growth over the last few years.
Since 2009, when the Canadian government put in place mandatory standards for organic food and the market has grown to the fourth largest in the world.
The new report “Canada’s Organic Market: Growth, Trends and Opportunities” has found BC has the strongest consumer with more than two-thirds of us buying organic products each week.
Those who buy organic say they won’t be changing their spending habits either. Ninety-eight per cent plan to increase or maintain their purchases of organic food this year.
