The next phase of snow clearing in Edmonton is set to begin, officials said Monday, more than a day after a week-long seasonal parking ban was officially lifted.
Officials said the seasonal parking ban ended with 1272 tickets issued, the ban was lifted at noon Sunday.
Now, the city said crews will turn their focus to neighbourhoods, blading accumulated snow to a level snowpack starting at midnight.
The residential blading cycle does not include a parking ban, but officials are asking residents to move their vehicles or park off-street if possible, so crews can clear the entire road surface.
The city has drawn up a schedule to determine when specific neighbourhoods will be cleared, that schedule has been posted online – officials said blading is a round-the-clock operation, and crews could be working in neighbourhoods at any time.
